Occupying nearly 10,000 square feet, the new Great Divide Lone Tree is designed as a social hub within the recently developed Lone Tree campus. Positioned strategically at the southwest corner, the space is filled with natural light and offers expansive views across the complex and toward the Rocky Mountain Front Range. The interior design draws heavily from the regional landscape, incorporating elements like river rock gabion walls and rammed earth plaster walls, which echo the stratified layers of the nearby red rock formations.
In contrast to the natural textures and tones of rock and rammed earth, an illuminated translucent wall introduces a modern, urban aesthetic. This gridded structure, housing the restrooms and lavatories, becomes a screen for a shadow play created by occupants, adding dynamic visual interest.
At the restaurant's south end, two large operable doors open to an enclosed patio outfitted with vertical sliding guillotine-style doors. This innovative enclosure provides a warm, protected environment during winter months while allowing the space to fully open to the outdoors when desired, offering patrons a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.
